This village is mainly located in Cook County, Illinois (with a small overflow into Will County). Settlement began there in the 1820’s and the place became known as “Bremen” in 1853. But, what really spurred its growth was the coming of the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad line around the end of the 19TH Century. This had such an impact that, in a ceremony held at the train depot, the village was renamed in honor of Samuel Tinley, Sr. who was the first railroad station agent for the village. It is now one of Chicago’s fasted growing suburbs and has even been selected by Business Week magazine as the best place in America in which to raise a family.
Well off villages like this will have high levels of car ownership and regular drivers – more than one car per household will not be unusual. Since it is a fact of motoring life that accidents and breakdowns can occur (even to the best regularly maintained vehicle), there is obviously going to be a ready need for auto repair in Tinley Park. A quick on line search will reveal some 28 establishments with a further 30 in the nearby vicinity.
Which Establishment will be Best For You?
There are no hard and fast rules about this so you are somewhat on your own. Here are a few hints that may help you:-
You should listen to fellow drivers’ advice and take heed of word of mouth praise for a particular shop.
Walk in and take a look around first. Does their equipment appear recent and in good condition? Are their mechanics, etc busy? You need to get an impression about the place.
Can they handle most makes and models?
Do they have comprehensive stocks of spare parts (everything from tires, through radiators and mufflers to transmission and engine parts – and don’t forget electrical items).
Do your homework and you shouldn’t regret your choice.
